The Peace of God
Today was an all-around tough day. I felt tired and cranky. I just listened to Ruthie scream for an hour before going to sleep. Samuel ran around most of this afternoon like a cooped-up, crazy child (winter will do this to a young man). He thankfully somehow fell asleep during Ruthie’s screaming fit. Motherhood can be tough, even on the best days, and this felt like one of the worst. I like what Philippians 4:7 says: And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Classical Conversations: Selections from Weeks 18 and 19
These past few weeks went by very quickly, but also very slowly. The winter seems to drag on and on here in the Midwest. I think we all would like spring to come as soon as possible. I can tell the kids feel restless, and I completely understand. I want to go outside, but I also don’t want to go outside! We can all pray that next week the sun will shine brightly, the temperature will creep beyond freezing, and the mounds of snow piled around our driveways will start to melt into the puddles.
