    Where Does Your Heart Live?

My heart lives in a neat, gray condo so warmly decorated inside that you can almost smell something delicious baking in the oven every time you visit, and feel the embrace of family greeting you after a long car ride home. My heart lives in an old, Victorian brick condo with twinkling strings of lights and raspberry-pink walls just down the street from cute shops and fun places to eat. The smell of coffee and the sound of laughter drift through open windows as sisters enjoy a day out together. Beauty and Order in God’s Creation

I grew up in a family interested in science. My sister had a rock tumbler she used fairly often, hidden in the basement so we didn’t have to listen to the constant knocking of rocks against the sides. He howls until the world lies still,Buried beneath wintry mound and hill.

My class did this activity very fast, so we spent extra time reviewing. The activity I enjoyed planning the most this week was for our presentations. Students picked a topic to talk about from a list of ideas the tutors for each class created. I made a list of questions for my class to choose from rather than topic ideas. I tried to be as creative as possible; I like to let my students use their imaginations as often…

A Few of My Favorite Things

Last Friday, my sister and I went to see John Crist live as part of New Life Family Service’s Laugh for Life. I looked forward to this night out with my sister for a couple months, and my excitement was very justified. We had a wonderful time! I intended to chronicle the entire evening in photos, but only ended up remembering to take photos in the car before we left and in the lobby of the church after the show. We ate dinner and dessert at a local tapas restaurant in between. Kelsey and I especially enjoyed John Crist’s opener, Mike Goodwin. He performed our favorite sketch of the evening:…
