Music

I began singing in choirs when I was six years old and taking piano lessons when I was ten. Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I also started journaling in elementary school, which began as the chronciles of my life and changed into poetry and song lyrics as I got older. I composed my first song somewhere around the age of 13, combining my love of writing with my love of music. Of course, I think those first songs of mine weren’t very well-written, but I can still see God’s grace at work in my life through them, which is a glorious thing!

These days, I write most of my songs on the ukulele. I like to put Scripture passages to music to help me “hide them in my heart” and turn Bible stories into songs so I can tell them to myself over and over again. I also still write about my life and what God is teaching me now as a wife, mother, sister, daughter, and teacher.

Here’s a collection of some of my old favorites and newest recordings. You can find the rest of my work under the ‘Songs’ category on my blog.
