BIG News for My Family

We’re moving!

Brian and I are excited to announce that we’ll be moving to the area I grew up in this fall. We’ll be close to my parents and my sister, my niece and her wonderful family, and closer to Brian’s family.

We’re also building instead of buying!

I never imagined we’d end up designing and building our very own home, but we found a lot we really like, and decided to go ahead and buy the land. We found our builder from looking at other newly-built homes in the area.

Our land is around two and a half acres and mostly flat with a handful of trees on the perimeter. For the last few years the neighbors rented the land to use as a horse pasture, so we have some extra fertilizer for our new grass and gardens. The lot is located in the middle of farmland and beautiful, rolling hills–the type of area where I’ve always wanted to live. We’ll be able to have a larger flock of chickens, sprawling wildflower gardens, and a small apple orchard. As you can probably tell, I’m looking forward to designing our yard from start to finish!

Our house will be a split-level with a master bedroom above the garage and an unfinished basement. We have a little loft area outside our bedroom and vaulted ceilings. The home will be fairly small (without a finished basement), but overall the perfect size for us since we’re a smaller family. The kids can’t wait to run around in the big yard.

We’ll miss our friends and church family in the La Crosse area. We appreciate all the help and support you’ve given us over the years. I’m especially thankful for those of you I met through Classical Conversations–we had a couple delightful, growth-filled years together, and I love you all very much! The same goes to my Panera “Bible study” ladies. You have been a huge blessing to me and my family.

We’re excited to go on this adventure together as a family. Check back for more updates about our whereabouts and doings. I’m sure I’ll have a lot to say about the moving process!

I’ll end this post with one of my favorite Bible verses:

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39
