Listen to Me, O Jacob

Listen to me, O Jacob,
And Israel, whom I called!
I am he; I am the first.
I am he; I am the last.
My hand laid the foundation
Of the earth and the heavens,
When I call them
They stand forth together.
(from Isaiah 48)

I am the Alpha and the Omega,
The first and the last,
The beginning and the end.
(Revelation 22:13)

Listen to me, O coastlands;
And you peoples from afar.
The Lord called me from the womb,
From inside he named my name.
He made my mouth like a sharp sword;
In his hand he hid me.
He made me a polished arrow;
In his quiver he hid me away.
(from Isaiah 49)

And I will reign over the house of Jacob
Forever,
And of my kingdom there will be no end.
(from Luke 1:33)

He who testifies to these things says,
“Surely I am coming soon.”
Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
(Revelation 22:20)

Listen to Me, O Jacob

    Thank you, Hannah. They are encouraging words for yet another day of this pandemic, that God is God and He is in control. And thank you for putting them to music. I am reminded of the words I read recently in Zephaniah 3:17 – “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
