“Little Sal picked three berries and dropped them in her little tin pail…kuplink, kuplank, kuplunk! She picked three more berries and ate them. Then she picked more berries and dropped one in the pail–kuplunk! And the rest she ate. Then Little Sal ate all four blueberries out of her pail!”

“They came round the corner, and there was Eeyore’s house, looking as comfy as anything.
‘There you are,’ said Piglet.
‘Inside as well as outside,’ said Pooh proudly.
Eeyore went inside…and came out again.
‘Its a remarkable thing,’ he said. ‘It is my house, and I built it where I said I did, so the wind must have blown it here. And the wind blew it right over the wood, and blew it down here, and here it is as good as ever. In fact, better in places.’
‘Much better,’ said Pooh and Piglet together.
‘It just shows what can be done by taking a little trouble,’ said Eeyore.”

“Reverence for life, as a wonderful and awful gift, which a ruthless child may destroy but can never restore, is a lesson of first importance to the child.”
Charlotte Mason, Home Education

“But you, Israel, my servant,
Jacob, whom I have chosen,
the offspring of Abraham, my friend;
you whom I took from the ends of the earth,
and called from its farthest corners,
saying to you, ‘You are my servant,
I have chosen you and not cast you off’;
fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:8-10

“At the end of every three years you shall bring out all the tithe of your produce in the same year and lay it up within your towns. And the Levite, because he has no portion or inheritance with you, and the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, who are within your town, shall come and eat and be filled, that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands that you do.”
Deuteronomy 14:28-29

“My father, a seasoned expositor of the Word and a major influence on my work, commented on a study I had done on a woman of the Bible by saying, ‘You see things I don’t see.’ As we collaborate in our attempts to understand the Scripture, more of the fullness of God’s Word comes out. This healthy and long-overdue interaction between men and women in the study of God’s Word exposes the fact that even in well-worn passages of the Bible there is more to learn.”
Carolyn Custis James, Lost Women of the Bible

“Christ dwells in our individual hearts through faith, and his love that surpasses knowledge is experienced in community. We need other Christian women in our lives to help us grasp how wide, how long, how high, and how deep is the love of Jesus. Compartmentalizing our spiritual life away from our interactions with other women is unhelpful and spiritually damaging. When we relegate our fellowship with other women to discussions of fleeting things and avoid talking about how eternity is pressing on our heart, we’re not doing ourselves or our friends any favors.”

    I remember that Pooh quote!! It’s so funny, I was reading it, and I can picture the scene from the Pooh movie (or show?) when Eeyore says that πŸ™‚
    This is one of my favorite quotes from C.S. Lewis:

    β€œTo love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.”
