Update on Our Moving Schedule, “Remember Me” and, “The Love of Christ Is Rich and Free” {New Music Monday}

This week is moving week for us! Today we plan to move a load of items to our storage unit and then visit the house. The electrical work is all finished and the windows are installed. We are excited to see the progress. We have dinner plans with friends from church tonight, too, and I made plans with a friend on Wednesday afternoon. These ‘goodbyes’ become more challenging the more I say them.

We plan to bring a second and third load of items up on Thursday and Saturday. We might have to make two trips on Saturday–we’ll see how today and Thursday go. Then, Sunday will be our final day here. We plan to take one last load up to my parent’s house just containing the smaller things we needed for Saturday night. God fills our lives with so many fun and unexpected coincidences: our last day in this house will be October 18, which is the date we bought this house eight years ago. We had no idea! I stand in awe of God’s sovereign providence and provision. Only he could author something so full of beauty and humor and confirmation that he planned this move from the very beginning.

We’ll end up living with my parents for about four weeks, as long as the rest of the construction goes according to plan. It will be fun to be closer to the house. The kids are excited to visit the yard and I’m excited to get to watch the building process more closely. I like seeing and learning how everything in a house fits together. We can start moving into the house once the building inspector comes and makes sure everything looks according to code.

We said our ‘goodbyes’ to our church yesterday morning. I feel so many different emotions right now that I can’t even pinpoint all of them. Excitement, relief, anxiety, happiness–they all just tumble together in a heap in my heart and my head like a pile of fresh laundry. I’ll sort through them after we move when I can pause and think a little better. For now, dear friends, know that I love you very much and no matter how excited I might seem about this new chapter in my life, I will miss you! These two songs are for you.

    That is so cool that you bought your house on October 18th eight years ago! It is amazing to see so obviously that God is in control of all things, at all times. It’s like Ava’s name! Her family and me had the same name picked out, even before we knew each other. I always remind her that God called her by name, and laid it on my heart and her family’s to name her Ava. And I love the final version of Remember Me. We will have to have a Coco movie night in addition to the GBBS night. Love you!

    Such beautiful songs, Hannah. I understand that your moving is sad in many ways but also exciting. An ending of something always open a window to a new beginning. We are so happy that all our family will be close to each other after all these years. I was not aware about the special date of October 18. It’s more evidence of the providence of God. Like Kelsey said, it’s so awesome knowing that He is always in control.
