Classical Conversations: Cycle 1, Week 15

This week we studied the painter Angelico and how fossils form. Angelico worked with gold to add halos and other details to Bible passages he painted. We discussed the difference between the two types of fossils (cast and mold) and how sediment is involved in the formation of both. The music that goes along with our History sentence for this week (Prince Henry of Portugal) is one of my favorites. I like the broken chords on the guitar.

I set the featured image for this post as the art project we did about Angelico. I don’t know who created the image of the angel, but, as usual, all the credit goes to him or her! The image of the angel is based on one of Angelico’s paintings. The students painted the angels with watercolors, glued the gold halos onto the angels, and then glued everything to a piece of paper. My class looked like they were having so much fun painting that I joined in, too! Can you tell which angel is mine and which is Samuel’s? 😉

Below you will find the music I wrote for our Geography grammar this week and my lesson plan as well.
