Poems

Watching a Summer Storm Roll In

Sometimes the clouds look like the sea
Their waves of gray wash over me
As I upon a green raft lie
And gaze into a foaming sky

Sometimes the sea looks like the clouds
It hides the land in deep’ning shrouds
I float upon a mountain peak
And dive through valleys blue and bleak

My journey ends as night begins
A song of sorrow sing the winds
They howl into the stormy night*
I harbor in the candle light
