Where You Call

This is a very special post! Besides the singing I do for Classical Conversations, I’ve never posted any audio files on my blog. Brian bought me a Blue Snowball microphone for my birthday last year so I could record myself playing an actual piano instead of the keyboard I previously used. I’ve found a lot of ways to use this wonderful gift, including recording some of my own music.

I wrote the words to “Where You Call” in shifts, and the music a few years ago. I finished the words recently, borrowing some of the imagery from this blog post. I’m sad to say that I’ve forgotten the music for many songs I’ve written in the past, mostly because I’m not very rhythmically proficient and grew frustrated easily with my music-writing software. However, this song stayed with me, and I hope someday to write down the music. Right now, everything is committed to memory!

Where You Call

Where you call I will go,
be it way beyond the sea.
Where you call I will go, for You.
Be it earth or in the sky,
Valleys low or mountains high.
Where you call I will go,
for You, my Lord.

Where you call I will go,
Through the darkness that I know,
Where the stars shine weak and dim.
I will look unto the cross,
At the Son the Father lost.
Where you call I will go,
for Him, My Lord.

Where you call I will go,
Where the light shines down below,
In the sun, in the grass, in the hills.
Where the blue sky meets the land,
Filled with joy, I understand:
Where you call I will go,
for You, my Lord.
