Sweet Strawberries Pop

Sweet strawberry stems pop!
As I pick them from the plant.
Green-veined leaves sway in the breeze.
I crouch down low
To find hidden, red treasure,
Bending dirt-stained knees.

Sweet strawberry seeds pop!
As I pile them in my mouth.
The taste of summer stays on my tongue.
I savor the sour,
And delight in the sweet,
Until picking time is done.
